Mission

Centre for Economic Growth brings the academicians, philanthropists, experts, policy makers, legislators and civil society’s change-agents from various sectors together and tries to make a long-lasting affirmative impact through policy leadership.

Core Idea

A national level umbrella policy cannot accommodate the specific requirements of a small state like Uttarakhand. This needs a vocal advocacy system supported by high impact research in critical domains necessary for state's development.

CEG comprises of experienced and dedicated people in the arena of economy and public policy.

Mr. Doval founded Centre for Economic Growth (CEG) with aim to boost the economy and sustainable development in his home state, Uttrakhand. He is member, board of governors, India Foundation, a leading national think tank and MD of Zeus Caps. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a joint MBA Degree from London Business School and University of Chicago.

Shaurya Doval

Founder & Chief Trustee

Mr. Bhatt is currently working as Vice-chairman and CEO, Elara Capitals, London. He has a long successful corporate career. He is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and certified Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary.

Raj Bhatt

Dr. Patnaik is an Economist and professor at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP). She is a former principal economic advisor for GoI. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from university of Surrey. She is a well-known columnist on economic issues.

Ila Patnayak

Prof. Gurjar, is currently, dean alumni and resources and faculty at IIT Roorkee. He has about 27 years of experience in industry, teaching, training, research and consultancy. He holds a Ph.D. in environment engineering and advance post-doctoral research fellow of Max-Planck society. With more than 140 research publications and 11 books as co-author/editor, he is leading expert of air pollution in India.

Prof. B.R. Gurjar

Prof. Balooni is the Director of IIM Kashipur. Previously,he was Director (i/c), IIM Kozhikode during the period 2014-18. He was also involved in instituting IIM Amritsar as mentor director. He undertook post-doctoral research in the University of Tokyo. He is a Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) fellow and authored more than 25 research publications in field of economics.

Padma-Shree awardee Dr. Ravi kant is currently Director, AIIMS Rishikesh and an eminent oncologist surgeon. He has been chancellor of King George’s Medical university and has more than 35 years of teaching and practice in medical field. He has been awarded with numerous prestigious awards.

Mrs. Bidkar is the Director of Strategic Planning, South Asia at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, New York. She has a vast experience as corporate lawyer and currently a member of International Bar Association. She holds a master degree in Law from Columbia Law school in New York and an alumnus of Delhi School of Law and Hindu college of Delhi University.

A 1986 batch IFS, Arun Singh Rawat is currently Director of Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun. He has more than 32 years of professional experience and his expertise lies in forest management.

Dr. Pratap is currently working as Vice-Chancellor of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He holds Ph.D. in agro-ecology. He is an eminent expert of Himalayan region and its ecology. He has served as VC in Agriculture University, Palampur and also in Sher-e Kashmir University in the past.

Dr. Tej Partap

An IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been retired as Chief Secretary of Uttrakhand. Ha has a very vast administrative career. In his service of more than 30 years, he has served as secretary in home and transport department. He also served as secretary to governor and in the finance ministry.

S. Ramaswamy

An IPS officer of 1987 batch, Mr. Raturi retired as highest police officer of state of Uttrakhand in 2020. In his three decades of service, Raturi has held several key positions in Uttarakhand including ADG Administration, ADG law and order, DGP (Rules and Manuals) and Director Vigilance.

He is a Research Associate at the Centre for Economic Growth. He holds a first-class bachelor's degree in economics from Banaras Hindu University and a first-class master's degree from the prestigious Centre for Economic Studies and Planning at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
